CD: Do Something BeautifulDo Something Beautiful
Graham Kendrick
www.grahamkendrick.co.uk

I'm sure there are one or two reading this for whom the name Graham Kendrick brings back memories of the praise marches of the 1980's which involved singing songs with more chord changes in one line than in the entire 'chorus' of the day! 'Do something beautiful' is the latest CD from the well known modern hymn-writer who somehow manages to encapsulate good theology in song format and combine this with very singable melodies. There are a number of songs here such as 'There is a hope so sure' (a duet with Darlene Zchesch) and 'Praise to Christ the Lord incarnate' which I would encourage us to think about introducing to our congregations, songs which help us focus on God's character and nature stirring us to thankfulness and provoking a response to 'do something beautiful'! The quality of the songs is matched by the production and arrangements which serve as a great example of how to get the best out of different instruments. Very inspiring.

CD: Live at Abbey RoadLive at Abbey Road
London Community Gospel Choir

This is the LCGC doing what they do best, adapting brilliantly to a diverse range of musical styles displayed by their own soloists and invited guests. There is something for everyone on this CD and can't fail to inject a bit of life into our worship repertoire. When you combine the harmonies of LCGC, add the soulful ballads of Sam Moore and Carleen Anderson, worshipful rock with Matt Redman and Martin Smith and the heartfelt sound of Paul Carrack it's a great package!

Rev Bazil Meade and his wonderful vitality is expressed in the DVD and video. From this recording we expect an album that will have you praising, partying and worshipping.

CD: BeautifulBeautiful
St Albans Vineyard

Beautiful is an audio glimpse into the worship found at the 'Burn Church', an alternative service at the St Albans Vineyard in the UK. A collection of 14 wonderful new worship songs written and performed by Marc James, Sam Lane, Jimmy Cooke, Deborah Clarke, Nico Bright and Adam Dickens.

Vineyard Music UK has teamed up with these talented yet humble guys to produce
an album of worship to our Beautiful God.

Sam and Marc will quote such influences as The Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam &
Stereophonics but this doesn't mean to say the album isn't original - these
influences are sympathetically interwoven with the band's own vocal signatures
into a tapestry of songs that create a vibrant and thoughtful masterpiece.

Be challenged, be invigorated and be delighted by the beauty of 'Beautiful'.

Vineyard Music UK broadens and brightens the worship horizon with its debut kids album, Great Big God. Seasoned musicians from previous Vineyard releases and a lively chorus of 120 children team up fro a praise celebration that explores rock, blues, folk, rap, ballads and even the zesty sound of Carribean carnival. Accompanying the album is a useful resource CD containing viewable files of the melody lines, guitar lead sheets and backing tracks.
